Where to buy Mescaline Powder

Mescaline Powder refers to the crystalline form of the naturally occurring psychedelic alkaloid mescaline. It can be obtained by grinding dried “buttons” from the peyote cactus or produced synthetically in a laboratory.

Description and Form

  • Natural Source: Mescaline is primarily found in the peyote cactus (Lophophora williamsii), native to northern Mexico and the southwestern United States, and also in the San Pedro cactus (Echinopsis pachanoi) and Peruvian torch cactus (Echinopsis peruviana).
  • Appearance: In its pure form (e.g., mescaline sulfate or hydrochloride), it is typically a white crystalline powder, although illicitly produced synthetic powder may appear in different colors.
  • Consumption Methods:
    • Traditional: Dried cactus buttons are chewed raw or soaked in water to make a tea, though the taste is extremely bitter and often causes nausea and vomiting.
    • Powder Form: To avoid the bitter taste, the ground powder is often placed into gelatin capsules to be swallowed or occasionally smoked with tobacco or cannabis.

Effects and Usage

Mescaline is a potent hallucinogen that affects perception, thinking, and emotions by binding to serotonin 5-HT2A receptors in the brain.

  • Physical Effects: May include dilated pupils, increased heart rate and blood pressure, a rise in body temperature and sweating, nausea, vomiting, headaches, and muscle weakness.
  • Psychological Effects: Can induce euphoria, vivid visual hallucinations (often geometric patterns and intense colors), altered perception of time and space, synesthesia (mixing of senses), and dream-like states.
  • Duration: The effects typically begin within 1-3 hours of oral consumption and can last for 8 to 12 hours or more, depending on the dosage.
  • Traditional/Therapeutic Use: Historically and currently, mescaline-containing cacti have been used in religious and healing ceremonies by Indigenous peoples of the Americas. Preliminary research suggests potential benefits in treating conditions like alcoholism, depression, and anxiety in a controlled, naturalistic setting, though it is not an approved medicine.

Legal Status

Mescaline is generally classified as a Schedule I controlled substance in the United States and is illegal in most countries, indicating it has a high potential for abuse and no currently accepted medical use in treatment.

An important exception exists in the U.S. under the American Indian Religious Freedom Act Amendments of 1994, which protects the ceremonial use of peyote by members of federally recognized Native American tribes and the Native American Church.
